[salonlb.] PRESENTS “SIMPLE PLEASURES AND SILVER LININGS: AN UNSEEN UNIVERSE”

A Solo Exhibition by Renee Robbins Opens December 16th at Chicago’s premier multi-disciplinary exhibition space and event venue

Chicago, IL (November 30, 2022) - - [salonlb.] is proud to present a solo exhibition by Chicago-based artist, Renee Robbins titled “Simple Pleasures and Silver Linings: An Unseen Universe”, opening Friday, December 16th, with a special reception from 7-10pm during Bridgeport’s Third Fridays gallery walk. Guests can meet Renee and enjoy refreshments in [salonlb.]’s 10,000 square foot industrial loft-style, creative space while exploring artists’ open studios and other nearby events throughout Bridgeport's Arts District.

Simple Pleasures and Silver Linings: An Unseen Universe is a mini retrospective of Robbins’ vast body of work that explores the dynamic world and its complex relationships between humans, nature, and the cosmos, through luminous visual environments both real and imagined. This exhibition immerses the viewer in an otherworldly landscape of flowering botanicals and celestial bodies viewed at the subatomic and telescopic levels, as it surveys Robbins’ wondrously detailed collections of paintings and etchings.

“Through painting, I explore the dynamic world as I travel between tiny and gigantic scales in the unseen universe… By creating associations between things that are seemingly disparate in scale and form, my work brings questions or sparks a curiosity about the universe.  This abstract space is luminously populated with dots, circles, and hieroglyphic-like marks.  In this way, my images reflect biodiversity and provide an opportunity to connect deeply with nature by creating wonder.” -Renee Robbins

“As a collector and longtime supporter of Renee’s work, we are thrilled to showcase this incredible collection of paintings and etchings that examine the interconnectedness of natural forms in unconventional ways,” said Lauren Brescia, Founder + Creative Director. At [salonlb.], our mission is to create a thoughtfully curated, alternative art experience that both engages the art community and continues to support exceptional local and regional artists. We look forward to introducing our patrons to Renee’s work and welcoming art enthusiasts to the burgeoning Bridgeport art scene.”
