Glow animates luminescent natural and man-made things. I use the shapes of bioluminescent comb jellies, coral reefs, and sunken ships as starting compositional structures. Over the initial silhouette, patterns derived from diatoms, or algae are blended with circuit boards and star constellations. The initial structures often get completely covered with smaller hybrid forms and layers of transparent paint. When corals grow, there is a struggle for territory between different species, which is reflected my painting process.
