Fieldnotes reference the scientific practice of observing variables, taking notes, and making lists. Collectively, these notations can be seen as a journal of evolving ideas. I use this system as a way to negotiate between abstraction and representation. Oftentimes, the notes are reconfigured for research reports or in my case, larger paintings post-adventure.
